TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical Announces Changes to Kickstarter Reward Ticketing
As part of the TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical Kickstarter campaign to bring the show to the Off-Broadway stage, the production team have today announced a number of changes that will apply to the tickets available as rewards for backing the campaign.
While the total number of tickets available will remain at 11,650 for the shows initial run, the overall ticketing process has been greatly simplified from the show’s first Kickstarter campaign effort. “The feedback we were getting was that people didn’t want to miss their opportunity to be one of the first to watch the show but at a quick glance couldn’t understand the process we were using. This is an issue which we’ve looked at, worked on and fixed for this time around,” said the show’s producer, Ben Fletcher.
Among the changes to the ticketing process is the simplification of ticket bands. “Where originally we had seven bands for standard performances, and then two for the first preview and one for the opening night on top, we’ve now cut this down to just five bands — four for standard performances and one for opening night.”
Additionally, changes have been made to the definition of ticket bands which will see the band of ticket no longer have any reference to the location of the seat within the theatre but rather only the price — this change means that come ticket allocation for specific performances, those with the cheapest tickets may still get some of the best seats in the house if they select a less popular performance than other backers.
Those hoping to watch the show in a group will also find favor with the changes as the requirement for all group members to have a ticket within the same band has now been lifted.
The order in which complimentary reward tickets will be allocated specific performances will be based upon highest to lowest pledge amount (total pledge amount for groups) and with priority offered to groups up to four (larger parties allocated first). Where there are two or more equal pledges, allocation priority will be based upon the earliest pledge to latest pledge.
Furthermore, the show is happy to announce that “taking on feedback from our first campaign, we will be introducing corporate ticket packages (each containing 10 tickets at a discounted minimum pledge) which may be pledged for by colleagues, managers wanting to treat their staff, and also larger families and groups of friends.”
Commending on the changes, co-producer, Brianna Bennett added, “As the first show on this scale to offer tickets in this way, minor tweaks for this second campaign are not something we’re surprised were needed, however, we are confident that with the changes we’ve made, TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical is now using a system that our backers can find confidence in.”
Those wishing to ensure they don’t miss their chance to be one of the first to watch TRUMPED: An Alternative Musical Off-Broadway will soon be able to secure their tickets by backing the show’s relaunched Kickstarter campaign in the new year and selecting a complimentary ticket reward when doing so.
